Experienced Operators 1 Day Excavator Ticket Course
At Gallmac Training we offer a training course for experienced Excavator operators only. There will be half a day formal training (classroom) which will include theory, Power Point presentation, and DVDs followed in the afternoon with both the theory and practical assessments.
On successful completion of this course you will gain a Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency, RIIMPO320D. This is your excavator ticket or license and will enable you to operate an excavator in any quarry, mine site or civil construction site in Australia.
Inexperienced Operators 3-5 Days Excavator Ticket Course
Gallmac Training also offers an Excavator Course for beginners in order for inexperienced operators to obtain their Excavator Ticket .
In this course the student will learn general construction site safety, excavator terminology, hazard identification, prestart and post-start procedures, operating procedures such as loading trucks, bulk excavation, lifting loads in crane mode, backfilling, shut-down procedures.
This course is competency-based with a nominal number of training hours required, which means that you need to do enough hours until you become a competent excavator operator. Everybody’s learning abilities are different therefore some participants may finish the course before others. There are no extra fees for students that need more time on the machine. There are no discounts on fees should less time be required.
To summarise in order to gain your Excavator ticket and the nationally reccognised qualification (RIIMPO320D) the student will learn the following skills:
- What potential hazards are, how to identify them, how to assess the risk of injury and the likelihood of injury happening, control measures that can be applied to remove or minimise the threat the hazard presents
- Planning and preparing the task
- Conducting routine pre-operational and post-operational checks on the machine

EWP Ticket

Participants of this program will also gain the skills needed to identify workplace hazards, and put control measures in place (as per the Hierarchy of Control). Students will learn to undergo all routine checks including prestart, post start checks and post operational checks. Students will also be able to identify and complete the logbook of a machine, and understand the logbook’s purpose.

Therefore training is required to avoid damage to the machine and associated equipment and, above all, to keep the operator and nearby personnel and pedestrians safe. By undergoing training, workers can also avoid causing inconvenience to their clients and receiving infringement notices from Workplace Health & Safety. Dogman Ticket
This dogman ticket course is a competency-based program that allows students to complete both the formal and informal requirements of the license, all at Gallmac Training’s training facility, or your workplace. We will supply all paperwork needed to obtain your Workplace Health & Safety High Risk License, including a learner’s guide, worksheets and activity books, a logbook (which is a training plan), and written and practical assessments. We have our own crane and all other resources required to complete your dogman ticket course, and can bring this machine and resources to your workplace, by prior arrangement.
Working with cranes can be dangerous. Due to this, workers are required to undergo the necessary training. It is important to undergo Dogman ticket training to avoid potential damage to equipment, infringement notices issues by WH&S (in Queensland) and to avoid causing inconvenience to clients. This course is competency based. It consists of small number of hours, during which time you will become competent at both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course. We recognize prior experience in this course, and understand that some people may require more or less time than others to complete this course.
